Obwarzanek-Making Workshop for the International Academic Community in Krakow

As part of activities supporting cultural adaptation in Poland, international researchers and PhD students are invited to take part in an Obwarzanek-Making Workshop at Krakow’s Obwarzanek Museum.

The workshop will be an opportunity to discover the history and tradition of one of Krakow’s best-known local specialties and to make your own obwarzanek. It will also provide an informal setting to meet other members of the international academic community and learn more about local culture.

Date: 16 October 2026

Time: 1:00–2:30 p.m.

Venue: Obwarzanek Museum, 4 I. Paderewskiego Street, Krakow

The event is open to international researchers and PhD students affiliated with AGH University of Krakow, Cracow University of Technology, Jagiellonian University in Krakow, University of Agriculture in Krakow, the Institute of Nuclear Physics PAS, and Krakow University of Economics.

Participants may also register one adult accompanying person. Each person attending the workshop must complete a separate registration form.

The registration deadline is 9 October 2026. As the number of places is limited, applications will be considered in the order they are received, while also aiming to ensure balanced participation across the participating institutions.

Join us for an afternoon of Krakow tradition, good company and hands-on experience — and see if you can make the perfect obwarzanek.

The Programme is financed with European funds from the European Funds for Social Development 2021–2027 (FERS) under the NAWA Project “Support for higher education and research institutions in supporting foreign nationals and Polish citizens going abroad,” project number FERS.01.05-IP.08-0003/24.
